Dr. Katherine Waselkov

Dr. Katherine Waselkov is an assistant professor in the Biology Department at CSU, Fresno (starting in 2015). She is a plant systematist and population geneticist, with broad training in evolution, ecology, and population biology. Her current research focus is on the evolutionary genetics of agricultural weeds in California's Central Valley.

Dr. Waselkov obtained a B.S. in Botany from the University of Florida in 2006. She went on to receive her Ph.D. at Washington University in St. Louis in 2013, and completed postdoctoral research at Kansas State University in 2015. Her role at Sierra IP Law, PC - Patents, Trademarks & Copyrights is as a botanical consultant, assisting with plant biology issues that are relevant to our clients in the agricultural industry and with plant patent applications.
